“One of my first tours was a group from Nova Scotia. When I arrived that evening, the Steelcase rep told me apologetically that only one person wanted to see the house. He was an architect. As I toured him through the living room, he suddenly asked if he could sit down in one of the chairs. ‘Of course,’ I told him, ‘Please make yourself comfortable.’ He sat in the rocking chair, closed his eyes, leaned his head back and told us, ‘I just want to feel that space.’ He sat for many minutes with his eyes closed.”
