“The first time I gave a tour, my mouth was as dry as cotton….To my amazement, I got a standing ovation, thanks to Steelcase preparing us so well….It’s interesting to learn from people on the tours. In one instance, as we were looking at the icebox in the butler’s pantry, a gentleman told our group that they used to have a sign that said “ICE” on it. Depending on how the sign was turned, the iceman would know how many pounds to deliver through the wall. Another guest told us how touched she was to be in a Frank Lloyd Wright home, then pulled up her pant leg to show the hollyhock tattoo!”
